An excellent detoxification and energizing treatment, this Specialized Manual Therapy could help those suffering from edema (swelling), chronic fatigue, pain and poor circulation. Also a great preventive massage to boost immunity during cold or allergy seasons. Specific Acupressure points are very lightly massaged using lymphatic drainage techniques and essential oils. This can be a phenomenally energizing or relaxing therapy depending on your needs at the time. Also optional to this treatment is a lymphatic “face lift” massage- Your face will look younger, fresh, and full of circulation!
Cupping is a time tested treatment various sized cups are placed on broad areas of the body and create a vaccum or “negative pressure”. Where deeper layers are stuck or pancaked together, the cups help lift and release which is a nice compliment to the downward pressure of typical trigger point and deep tissue massage. Cupping also helps with the circulatory and lymph system, as well as wiry, tight and hypersensitive muscles. Cupping can be combined with a regular massage as part of the overall treatment session.
A powerful, yet subtle healing therapy, improving brain and nervous system function. “CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.
Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it’s effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.” –taken from the Upledger Institute.

With Reiki, the hands lightly touch or hover just above areas of the body, often causing warmth or various pleasant healing sensations. Often the recipient can “feel”with their eyes closed, where the hands are even without direct contact, due to the affect of energy that seems to be emanating. Reiki has been used successfully to treat stress, physical, emotional, even spiritual problems. The Japanese word “ki” in Reiki is similar to the concept of “chi” in Chinese which translates to something like life force, or healing energy. Like most other therapies, Reiki can be done exclusively or combined with massage therapy.
Chair massages are done while you’re seated fully clothed in a portable, specially designed chair. They usually involve a massage of your neck, shoulders, back, arms, and hands.
This is my most recent skill acquisition, and the results have been profound for tightness, knots, and posture. Muscles that are tight have an “opposite muscle” or antagonist. As you flex one muscle, another has to relax to enable the action. When you straighten your arm, you’re flexing your triceps, and of course your biceps are are lengthening and softening (relaxing).
We’ll get the super-tight muscles to relax and let go by flexing their opposite muscles. This is a participatory technique that can be “peppered into” your regular massage, and often has immediate, thorough results, saving us time and discomfort of traditional deep tissue massage techniques!
